Are you interested in Volunteering?

  • Do you have time to help?
  • Do you have a friendly manner?
  • Do you have a sympathetic approach to the elderly and people with disabilities?

If so why not join our growing band of volunteers and make a real difference to people who are experiencing difficulties getting out and about. Our schemes are aimed at increasing the independence and mobility of older people and people with disabilities.

Remember as a community transport charity your help will be greatly appreciated by those with mobility needs in the South West Devon area. Go on make a difference!

Our Volunteering opportunities

We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities available from Car driving to website editing…

As a Driver in our Volunteer Car Scheme

Our Volunteer Car Service is dependent entirely on volunteers. Our small team use their own cars to collect people from their homes and take them to medical appointments, shopping, or whatever service is needed.

For many of the users of this service, it is the only way they can reach hospitals, doctors, dentists and other essential everyday services.

If you enjoy driving, have your own car and would like to spend some time meeting new people and travelling the area, why not join us? All travelling expenses are paid at 45p per mile and you only take on the journeys you want to do.  More information about our car schemes.

Minibus Driver for Community Group Hire

We hire out our minibuses (15 seater) to local community groups whose members include wheelchair users, we need volunteers to drive and join in the fun of their outings, often in the evenings and at weekends.

In the Office

We need volunteers to help in our office, so if you have skills or experience using computers, or enjoy talking to people on the phone please give us a call.

Fundraising

We always need help with fundraising, so if you would like to run an event or help at our events then please contact the office on 01752 690444.

Volunteer Collection Tin Manager

We are also searching for a volunteer tin collection manager, who will ensure that our collection boxes are out and about in the local community.

The Role would involve, identifying local businesses willing to take collection tin, approaching the managers of those businesses, to install and maintain collection tins and to provide those holding collection tins with feedback on the amounts collected by producing thank you letters and appreciation certificates

Ideally the volunteer would have access to a car (we pay 45p per mile for expenses), enjoy meeting people, is happy to handle money, is organised and can keep simple records. Full training will be given.

Volunteering information

We are looking for people who are interested in joining our association by becoming a trustee. This would involve attending 4 meetings a year, but mainly we are after people who want to help us make a difference.

If you feel you could offer some time, no matter how small, contact us on 01752 690444
