Ring and Ride Journey
- Choose which day you wish to travel (see ‘Timetable’ above)
- Telephone 01752 690444 between 9am-12 noon, Monday to Friday, or leave a clear message, stating:-
- Your full name, address and phone number
- Day and date of travel
- If you require wheelchair space
- If you take a shopping trolley
- Please be ready by the times shown on the timetable You will be picked up from your home around the time indicated so please be patient!
- Pay the driver your fare
- Be ready to be collected at the ‘Boarding Point’ for your journey home
- Please contact the office and give 48 hours notice if you are unable to travel. We reserve the right to charge for journeys not undertaken.
Car Journey
Telephone 01752 690444 between 9am-12 noon, Monday to Friday. As we have to liaise with our drivers we require a minimum of 48 hours notice in advance of the date and time you wish to travel (longer if calls are made after 12 noon on a Friday).
When you call, you will be asked for the information below. If the office is closed, please leave this information on the answer phone and our co-ordinator will process the request when the office re-opens.
- Your full name, address and phone number.
- Date and time of your appointment.
- Destination.
- State if you will be bringing an escort to accompany you.
- State if you have any difficulties getting into, or out of, certain types of car.
- State if you use a walking aid, please state type.
- State if you use a folding wheelchair, as many of our cars cannot accommodate wheelchairs.
Our co-ordinator will then ring around our Volunteer Drivers to see if anyone is available. This can take some time to contact people. Once a driver has been found, our co-ordinator will ring you back to confirm the journey. In the event that no driver is available, we will ring you back to let you know as soon as possible before your journey.
- When our co-ordinator rings you back, they will tell you when the driver will collect you to meet your appointment time.
- Please be ready when our driver arrives, otherwise you may be late for your appointment.
- Our driver will wait for you to complete your appointment for up to two hours
- Our driver will meet you at an agreed location and drive you home
- Pay the driver your fare
- Please contact the office and give 24 hours notice if you are unable to travel.
